The 2019 ISCCL International Symposium, was held in Ireland at the National Botanical Gardens of Dublin. The meeting was small and intimate, and organised by ICOMOS Ireland, who did a great job of welcoming all members to Ireland.

The meeting was preceded, and concluded with field trips visiting various sites around Dublin. These field trips enabled smaller groups of the members to interact with each other, while being introduced to a part of the cultural landscape of Ireland. Field trips included: Castletown House and Demesne, Clara Bog, Lemanaghan, Clonmacnoise, Dublin City,  Development of the City and its Parks, Phoenix Park, and Bull Island

The two-day Symposium: The Culture-Nature Spectrum: Conversations about Irish Cultural Landscapes with an International Perspective was led by Patricia O’Donnel (President), and Elizabeth Brabec (Secretary general). A great variety of presentations were included (see schedule). Individual working group topics were discussed in informal break-away groups; these informal break-away groups would pave the way to meaningful work for the next year.
