Responsibilities of Membership:
Please read and acknowledge the following:
- The Committee is required to submit an annual report to ICOMOS; therefore, between January and February of each your, you will be required to submit a report on your activities in the Committee and with respect to cultural landscapes. Please complete the report, even if you do not have any activities to list for the calendar year.
- Newsletters and emails are how we reach our members: please read them and respond as necessary.
- We are a working Scientific Committee of volunteer members: please identify at least one task you have accomplished for the Committee each year in your Annual Report.
- As a Scientific Committee of ICOMOS, we are required to develop and fulfill a Triennial Scientific Plan (TSP): you can get involved in creating the goals and directions of the Committee (TSP) through a Working Group of your choice. Please see the website for a list of active working groups to become involved with.
- As the largest Scientific Committee of ICOMOS, we have a lot of work to accomplish in managing the Committee: Please watch the newsletters and emails for calls for Committee members to join the Bureau.

The ICOMOS Ethical Principles specify the responsibilities of ICOMOS members and its bodies towards cultural heritage conservation and in connection with ICOMOS. They were adopted by the 18th General Assembly (Florence, 2014) to replace the Ethical Commitment Statement adopted by the 13th General Assembly (Madrid, 2002), and amended by the 20th General Assembly (online, 2020).
The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) is a non-governmental organisation whose objective is to further the conservation of cultural heritage (monuments, groups of buildings and sites) in their tangible and intangible aspects, and their full diversity and authenticity. ICOMOS accomplishes its objective through its network of members and Committees, its activities and co-operation with other organisations. ICOMOS members share common principles while reflecting the diversity of specialisations and competencies in the field of cultural heritage conservation.
