2024 – ISCCL Symposium Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil
The 2024 ISCCL International Symposium, was held in association with the ICOMOS Annual General Meeting in Ouro Preto, on the preceding weekend. A group of ISCCL members met at the faculty of Architecture of the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte on Saturday, November 9th. Joined by members of CIVVIH and the Brazil Cultural Landscape Committee, the group met for presentations and discussion of various topics proposed by the members from 9am to 12:00 noon (Schedule and videos of the presentation are attached below).
After the symposium meeting the members took their first field trip to Pampulha Modern Ensemble, a cultural landscape inscribed in 2016. Please see below for a galley of images of the tour. For more information on Pampulha, go to the World Heritage documents athttps://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1493/.
On Sunday, November 10, we drove about 2 hours to Inhotim, a contemporary art museum with galleries and outdoor installations spread across 1,942 acres of the Atlantic Forest biome. The site is also a botanical garden designed by Roberto Burle Marx. See below for a gallery of photos from Inhotim.
